Anika stood frozen in the middle of the courtyard, her mind racing. Everything around her felt unreal-the decorations, the people, the whispers.

This wasn't supposed to be her story.

"I'm not doing this."

Her voice was firm this time. Strong. Clear.

Everyone turned to look at her.

"Main yeh shaadi nahi karungi," Anika said again, louder.

A silence fell.

Rajesh Kapoor's expression hardened. "Anika, samajhne ki koshish karo. Yeh sirf tumhari baat nahi hai. Yeh poori family ki izzat ka sawaal hai."

"Izzat?" Anika laughed bitterly. "Meri life ka kya, Papa? Main kisi unknown person se shaadi kaise kar loon?"

Before anyone could answer, a calm voice cut through the tension.

"Unknown?"

Veer stepped forward slowly, his eyes fixed on her.

"Main itna bhi unknown nahi hoon, City Doll."

Anika turned to him, clearly irritated. "Don't call me that."

Veer raised an eyebrow slightly.

"Toh kya bulaun? Shehzadi? Ya phir... Ziddi ladki?"

Anika crossed her arms. "Aap jo bhi bulao, mujhe farak nahi padta, Mr. Villager. Main yeh shaadi nahi karne wali."

A faint smirk appeared on Veer's lips.

"Ziddi ho tum... par situation tumse bhi zyada ziddi hai, Chhoti."

Anika stepped closer, anger flashing in her eyes.

"Main apni life ka decision khud loongi. Aap nahi."

Veer didn't move. His calmness only made her more frustrated.

"Kabhi kabhi," he said quietly, "life decisions humse pooch kar nahi aati, Madam."

Anika clenched her fists. "Yeh galat hai."

Veer looked straight into her eyes.

"Galat ya sahi... yeh waqt decide karega."

For a moment, everything went still.

Two completely different worlds stood face to face-

her anger against his calm,

her rebellion against his control.

And neither of them was ready to back down.

Anika took a deep breath. "Main yeh shaadi nahi karungi."

Veer's expression didn't change.

"Karni padegi."

The words were simple. Final.

Anika felt something shift inside her. Not acceptance... but realization.

She was trapped.

But if she had to stay-

She wouldn't make it easy for him.

Her lips curved slightly, a spark of defiance in her eyes.

"Fine," she said slowly. "Shaadi hogi..."

Veer watched her carefully.

"...lekin ek baat yaad rakhna, Mr. Villager," Anika continued, her voice steady,

"Main aapki perfect wife nahi banne wali."

For the first time, Veer's calm expression shifted-just slightly.

A hint of amusement.

"Aur main perfect husband hone ka wada bhi nahi karta, City Doll."

A silence passed between them.

But this time... it wasn't empty.

It was filled with tension. Sparks. Challenge.

This wasn't just a marriage anymore...

It was the beginning of a battle.
